Tories ''plan Change4Life expansion'' - Clip Ltd
02 Jul 2009
Should they be victorious at the next general election, a Conservative government would extend the Change4Life initiative, which currently deals with obesity, to also cover responsible drinking, it has been reported.
The planned campaign, which could see the party making use of
display stands, was announced by shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley in recent days, online industry information portal Brand Republic states.
Mr Lansley, who is also the MP for Cambridgeshire South, said that the Tories would develop a social marketing scheme using the aims established by Change4Life and the Campaign For Smarter Drinking if the party were to come into power.
The scheme would place emphasis on eating and drinking healthily, as well as promoting an active lifestyle.
A wide array of charitable, governmental and retail organisations is involved in Change4Life, including the Co-operative, the Fitness Industry Association, Asda, the British Heart Foundation and the Departments for Culture, Media and Sport.
