BPC calls for award nominations
24 Feb 2009
The British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) is now accepting applications for its annual award, with the prize consisting of £750 and a lecture invitation for the winner to present their work.
Named the Commemorative Conference Science Medallion, the honour is aimed at scientists across the globe who currently work in a pharmaceutical or an allied discipline in either the academic world or industry.
They must provide a range of information for the judges, such as a list of students who have worked for them, details of grants and any invitations or lecture titles abroad.
Applicants are required to have no more than a decade at post-doctoral level but a body of published work displaying "outstanding promise".
The launch of this year''s award follows a statement released last week by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, which detailed a new prize focused on improvements to medicine safety that have resulted in benefits for patients.
RPSGB chief executive and registrar Jeremy Holmes said it aimed to "highlight good practice".
