MEN Arena named as Favourite Venue 2008

Industry experts have named Manchester''s MEN Arena their Favourite Venue of 2008, it has been noted.

Total Production International''s panel also said the facility''s biggest-selling star, Kylie Minogue, was responsible for Live Production of the Year for last year''s X Tour, which held a six-night residency at the arena.

James Allen, director of events for the MEN Arena - which is no stranger to exhibition stands - playing host to concerts, conventions and trade shows throughout the year, said the fact that industry peers voted for the award makes the win "incredibly important".

"We work incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure everybody who visits the arena has an unforgettable experience," he commented.

The arena''s official crowd management provider ShowSec won the title of Favourite Security Company for the second year in a row.

In December 2008, the facility announced the launch of its new pre-show food and drink area, the View.
