"New perspective" to booking Melbourne events
09 Feb 2009
Small to medium-sized meetings and events are set to benefit from a "new perspective" with the opening of the new Melbourne Convention and
Exhibition Centre (MCEC) this year, it has been announced.
MCEC and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf have formed a coalition called South Wharf Meeting and Events, which Leigh Harry, the chief executive of the body, says will be able to cater to those in the sector keen to set up
exhibition stands in the new facility.
Hilton Melbourne South Wharf general manager Michael Bourne adds: "This exciting new offering essentially makes it easier than ever for organisers of small and medium-sized meetings and events to arrange successful and productive events in a beautiful CBD location."
As well as offering
exhibition space, the MCEC provides 32 meeting rooms of various sizes, some of which have views of the Melbourne skyline.
It is also the first convention centre in the world to achieve a 6-Star Green Star environmental rating.
