17 Feb 2009
A new state-of-the-art training and applications facility aimed at supporting biomanufacturing customers has been opened by Millipore.
The firm explained that the 8,000 sq ft facility will provide technical and support services to the firm''s biopharmaceutical customers.
Martin Madaus, chief executive officer and president of Millipore, said that when many of the company''s clients began to establish a significant presence in Asia, a need was identified.
"As our global customers expand in Singapore we need to be right there with them. This new facility continues and enhances the local support we have provided for more than 25 years in Singapore," he added.
Bah Kina Teak, director of Biomedical Sciences at Singapore Economic Development Board, stated the facility strengthens Millipore''s position as a "leader" in the region.
In recent weeks, the company announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2008, reporting a growth of seven per cent in its bioscience division.
