03 Feb 2009
Some 88,000 people are expected to attend Europe''s largest Festival of Science, which is due to take place in Surrey later this year.
The South East England Development Agency (Seeda) states there will be "something for everyone" at the show, which is organised by the British Science Association.
Set to be featured on the programme are plays, films, talks, workshops debates and field trips.
Colin Baldwin, Seeda''s knowledge transfer manager, states the festival provides regional businesses the chance to set up
exhibition stands and showcase their innovations on a national and international platform.
"These businesses will rely on well qualified staff in the future. The festival is an ideal opportunity to highlight to young people how exciting a career in science can be," he adds.
Last year''s event took place in Liverpool and included talks from explorer Sir Fanulph Fiennes, Sir David King and television presenter and writer professor Robert Winston.
