ZiiLABS''
exhibition stand at the GSMA World Congress is set to include a demonstration about media acceleration capabilities, which will enable high definition video playback for the Google-created Android operating system, with its processors, it has announced.
The company explains the platform is a software stack for mobile devices which works "seamlessly" with ZiiLABS ZMS processors.
Now, for the first time, high definition playback up to 1080p on handheld devices will be available on the Android operating system.
Regarding the demonstration, Tim Lewis, director of marketing at ZiiLABS, explained at the Consumer Electronics show last month, the company launched the ZMS-05 processor.
"We are now expanding our support beyond our existing SDK to anyone who wishes to leverage the Android platform," he added.
Mr Lewis stated the firm expects to release its Android platform to original equipment manufacturer partners later this year.
The GSMA World Congress takes place in Barcelona between February 16th and 19th, with appearances by Jamie Cullum and Kevin Spacey already confirmed.
