15 Jul 2009

The PPI Transport Symposium will take place in Liverpool this year and will involve the work of UK exhibition companies.

Organised by information provider RISI and the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA), the programme will focus on key innovations, trends and issues affecting the forest products logistics industry.

Taking place from October 6th to 9th 2009 between 08:00 and 18:30, the event at the Arena & Convention Centre in the north-west city is entitled Steering the Right Course to the Future this year.

Hailed by organisers as the "longest running conference and exhibition" in its field, the show will feature sessions on the future outlook for the industry, the effects of the economic slowdown and advances in supply chain technology, along with an exhibitors reception and a tour of the Port of Liverpool.

PPI Transport Symposium is the 18th incarnation of the biennial conference and exhibition for the forest products logistics industry and is chaired this year by George Hudson, Peel Ports Group business development manager.

"The aim is to create a conference program that addresses real-world issues and serves as an effective educational and professional enhancement vehicle," Mr Hudson stated, adding that he hoped that delegates would take "really good ideas" that are immediately applicable home with them.

Located next to the Albert Dock, the Liverpool Arena & Convention Centre is home to the BT Convention Centre, which hosts a range of events each year, many of which use custom modular exhibition stands.
