Arable industry to gather at Cereals 2009 - Clip Ltd

Exhibition stands dedicated to the UK arable industry will be set up at Vine Farm, Cambridgeshire, this week for Cereals 2009.
The event will bring together tens of thousands of professional farmers and industry experts on June 10th and 11th and it is marketed as the leading technical event for the UK arable industry.
According to organisers, it boasts over 64 hectares of stands and live demonstrations and more than 400 exhibitors will keep guests up-to-date with the latest products, advice and information.
It has been revealed a record was set at last year''s incarnation at Heath Farm near Leadenham in Lincolnshire when 23,900 people walked through the gates at Cereals 2008.
In 2008, one in four visitors made a purchase on the day and the number of people making spending in excess of £20,000 increased by four per cent. This may explain why more than 90 per cent of exhibitors plan to return to this year''s event.
Commenting on the 2008 exhibition, a representative of the show said: "This year''s Cereals was a runaway success thanks to the diverse range of content put on by exhibitors and by the enthusiasm of visitors to support the event.
At the heart of the this year''s version will be more than 90 crop plots that demonstrate the field performance of new and established varieties, along with agrochemical comparisons and input recommendations for various end-markets.
HSBC is continuing to act as principal sponsor and head of agriculture Pat Tomlinson said during the economic downturn it is more important than ever for farmers to secure their long-term future.
"With sound finance being one of the fundamental foundations to future success, a conversation with one of our specialist agriculture managers will be time well spent at Cereals 2009," the representative added.
