Chartered Institute of Housing Conference and Exhibition - Clip Ltd
18 Jun 2009
The Chartered Institute of Housing Conference is currently taking place at Harrogate International Centre and a wide array of different organisations have set up exhibition stands and
shell schemes at the showcase.
One of the main highlights of the event so far has been the first public speech by the new housing and planning minister John Healey, who was appointed to his new position by prime minister Gordon Brown earlier this month.
Mr Healey spoke and then took part in a question and answer session with the assembled delegates, where he fielded questions on a range of topics, despite only having held his new position for around 11 days.
Other speakers at the event include Margaret Eaton, chairman of the Local Government Association, Sir Bob Kerslake, chief executive of the Homes and Communities Agency and actor Ricky Tomlinson, who is most famous for his role in the Royle Family.
Each of the speakers was welcomed to the stage to the sound of One Day Like This, a song written by Mercury Music Prize-winning band Elbow and the show attracted an excellent turnout.
Exhibitors at the event included British Sky Broadcasting, the National House-Building Council, Savills, Capita and ChoiceHomes UK.
Harrogate International Conference Centre offers eight interconnected exhibition halls, with 16,500 sq m of space.
The venue states: "You can count on our expertise in handling major exhibitions to help you maximise the opportunities available in our exhibition halls. From big fashion industry exhibitions through to leading trade shows and retail exhibitions you will have full support."
