College of Occupational Therapists'' 33rd annual exhibition - Clip Ltd
18 Jun 2009
Only a few days remain until the College of Occupational Therapists sets up a range of
exhibition stands and hosts its 33rd annual conference and exhibition.
The organisation - which is a subsidiary of the British Association of Occupational Therapists, a trade union and professional body with over 29,000 members - will be hosting the event between June 23rd and 26th at the Brighton Centre in Brighton.
A wide range of experts from the world of health and social care are set to be on hand at the show to offer their thoughts and advice on an array of issues currently facing the industry.
They include Howard Saunders, head of strategy development and delivery at the Cross-Government Health Work and Wellbeing Unit, who will talk about moving from a ''sick note'' to a ''fit note'' culture.
Andrew Lyon, converger of the International Futures Forum, professor Mike Richards, the national cancer director and Baroness Greengross, president of the College of Occupational Therapists, will also be present.
Delegates will be able to hear about the different ways in which occupational therapy principles are being applied, from how and why a dating agency for individuals with learning disabilities was set up and the manner in which an intergenerational arts scheme is reducing the social isolation of older people.
Several other smaller events will also take place over the course of the exhibition''s run at the venue and can be attended by delegates from the exhibition. They include conferences dedicated to people with learning difficulties, HIV, Aids and oncology.
