Almirall exhibits "fortitude and potential"

Almirall showed off its "fortitude and potential" in recent days, it has been asserted.
The comments came from Dr Jorge Gallardo, chairman and chief executive officer of the international pharmaceutical firm, as it released its full-year financial results for 2008.
Almirall accrued total revenues of 136.1 million (£121.45 million) during the 12-month period, an increase of 3.8 per cent in comparison to the previous year.
In addition, net sales rose by 13.9 per cent, bringing the total in this portion of its accounts to 902.8 million.
Dr Gallardo said: "These results are a demonstration of Almirall''s fortitude and potential."
Regarding the company''s prospects for 2009, he said: "We will maintain our strategy of focusing on specific therapeutic areas and continue to assess new licensing and acquisition opportunities."
In recent days, the firm announced new data which suggested fast-acting efficacy on the part of its long-acting beta agonist, LAS100977, for the treatment of bronchoconstriction in patients with asthma.
