AstraZeneca delivered "significant successes" in 2008

AstraZeneca delivered a number of "significant successes" during 2008, it has been asserted.
David R Brennan is the chief executive officer of the pharmaceutical company and made his comments as the firm announced its annual report for last year.
He said the company''s vision is to be a research-based and innovation-driven company which is focused on human health and also capable of delivering a reliable flow of differentiated and innovative products to patients across the globe.
"We will commercialise our products rapidly and globally at affordable prices through a world class sales and marketing organisation operating in both primary and specialty care markets," he added.
The company announced an increase in sales of three per cent, taking its total to $31.601 billion (£22.410 billion).
In recent days, the pharmaceutical company announced its non-executive deputy chairman Hakan Mogren will retire on April 30th at the close of its annual general meeting.
