Exhibitions ''offer effective marketing messages''
03 Mar 2009
Exhibitions and conferences provide companies with the opportunity to spread effective marketing messages to clients, it has been asserted.
Richard Waddington, chief executive officer of event management company First Protocol, made his comments at International Confex 2009, a trade show for the events and conference sector.
He noted his firm "completely restructured" when it realised "print was going to decline massively".
Mr Waddington explained that the firm is now split between events and digital marketing, with a focus placed on the former, adding that the latter results in consumers being inundated with many emails.
"There isn''t efficient spam filtering software yet so I still think an event is the best face to face marketing message and way of communicating that businesses have," he concluded.
International Confex took place at Earls Court in London between February 24th and 26th. Keynote speeches were delivered by Ruby Wax and economic commentator Hamish McRae.
