ICC achieves international standards accreditation
30 Mar 2009
Birmingham''s International Convention Centre (ICC) has achieved international standards accreditation for environmental and quality management systems, it has announced.
These standards - called ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, respectively - offer consumers looking to make use of the venue - perhaps for an
exhibition including
exhibition stands - with assurance that their event will be delivered in a sustainable and to their requirements.
Geoff Fenlon, general manager at the facility, said the accreditations show that both customers and the environment are top priorities for the centre.
"Combined together, these two standards provide our delegates and organisers with the assurance that their event at the ICC will be of an exceptionally high quality," he added.
The ICC is now looking forward to hosting the Liberal Democrats'' spring conference in 2010, having held the Labour party spring meeting and Conservative Party annual symposium in 2008.
Earlier this month, the NEC Group announced more than 1.6 million tickets were sold for events at its Birmingham venues, which include the ICC.
