Jukka Ylppo re-elected as Orion board vice-chairman

Jukka Ylppo has been re-elected as the vice-chairman of Orion''s board of directors.

The company held its annual general meeting yesterday (March 23rd), during which the committee was voted on.

It was determined that Matti Kavetvuo was to hold the position of remuneration committee chairman, while Vesa Puttonen was chosen as the individual to chair the audit committee.

Leena Palotie was selected to be the chairman of the research and development committee.

Members of the nomination committee are set to be elected at a later date, Orion said in a statement.

"The board of directors has assessed the independence of its members and concluded that all the members are independent of the company and its significant shareholders," it added.

A number of other decisions were taken during the meeting.

It was agreed that a dividend of €0.95 (£0.87) per share for 2008 would be paid to shareholders on April 2nd.
