NASUWT exhibition stands ''to go green''
27 Mar 2009
As well as offering the chance to see
exhibition stands, presentations and working groups, the 2009 National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) conference will be increasing its ecological credentials this year.
The trade union will be making use of solar power to run key parts of its annual meeting, which is set to take place at the award-winning Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) between April 13th and 16th.
Chris Keates, general secretary of NASUWT, explains the body is "very conscious" of its environmental impact.
"We hold a major conference every year and the power use is considerable. Hopefully
this will mark a greener approach to these kinds of events, not just for the NASUWT, but other organisations as well," he adds.
BIC won the award for World''s Best Congress Centre in 2008.
