The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) played host to the Great Pharmacy Debate
exhibition, which took place at its headquarters in London in recent days.
More than 50 science students took part in the event - which occurred on Friday March 13th - and the winner was St Francis Xavier College from Liverpool, which proposed the motion that "there is no such thing as a bad medicine".
As well as the debate, Professor Jayne Lawrence, the RPSGB chief scientific officer, gave a talk.
Guided tours of the museum also took place.
Commenting on the
exhibition, Briony Hudson, keeper of the body''s museum collections, said: "Hosting a national debating competition is a completely new venture for the museum.
"We were really impressed with the skills of the young people who took part - and their grasp of both current and historical pharmacy issues."
In recent days, the RPSGB joined forces with the Pharmacists'' Defence Association to launch a campaign aimed at tackling workplace pressure.
