01 May 2009
Exhibition stands are still set to be set up at the NEC in Birmingham for the Fire & Rescue symposium later this month, the show''s organisers have announced.
The organisers explain that the recent outbreak of swine flu may have caused some concerns for delegates, exhibitors and other visitors planning to attend the event.
In a statement, they explain: "Currently, it''s business as usual for Fire & Rescue but we will continue to monitor the situation and will contact exhibitors and those registered to attend if there are any substantial changes."
The event is still due to take place at the NEC, which first opened its doors in 1976, between May 12th and May 14th.
A number of seminars, on issues such as the Flood Rescue National Enhancement Programme, will be held at the exhibition.
Industry figures set to appear include Terry Considine, group delivery manager for supervisory incident command at the Fire Service College.
