''Full bodied affair'' at the London International Wine Fair

Exhibition stands dedicated to the world of wine will be set up this month for the London International Wine Fair (LIWF).
Taking place between May 12th and 14th at ExCeL London, the LIWF will attract 1,300 exhibitors, 15,000 visitors and 25,000 types of vino - as the world of wine descends on the capital.
Last year, 500 members of the world''s press visited the event, which is frequented by wine trade buyers from across the globe.
Buyers who attend the LIWF range from restaurateurs and independent wine merchants to UK supermarkets and German importing agents.
For the first time, the LIWF will host the Imbibe On-Trade Lounge featuring the Sommelier Wine Awards Winners Tasting. The awards - organised by Imbibe Magazine - will be the focus of activity for sommeliers, restaurateurs and all those working in the on-trade.
Another first for the festival is Cantina Argentina, a restaurant sponsored by Wines of Argentina that offers a place to do business deals or simply relax.
According to organisers, winemakers from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia will also appear at the festival for the first time.
Meanwhile, the LIWF Top 100 Tasting 2009 provides visitors with the opportunity to sample some of the best wines in the world, hand-picked by The(lc) Wine Gang.
Representatives of the LIWF say visitors and exhibitors will also be able to dine at some of London''s top restaurants - while bringing their own wine with low or reduced corkage charge - thanks to a new initiative with Square Meal.
Will Broadfoot, a spokesperson for the fair, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with London''s top sommeliers and restaurants and from the visiting producers'' point of view, being given the chance to showcase their own wines with some of London''s best cuisine is a fantastic opportunity."
