John Lennon photo exhibition due to premiere in Liverpool

08 May 2009

Exhibition stands showing off a range of photos from John Lennon and Yoko Ono''s famous Montreal Bed-In For Peace are due to be set up in Liverpool later this month, it has been announced.

The Beatles Story museum, which is located on the city''s Albert Dock, will play host to the exhibition, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the demonstration by the then newly-married couple.

Pictures taken by photojournalist Gerry Deiter will be the centrepiece of the exhibition.

Jerry Goldman, managing director of the Beatles Story facility, said the venue is "hugely excited" to be involved in the European premiere of the images, which were taken in the Queen Elizabeth Hotel between May 26th and June 2nd 1969.

"The images in this exhibition represent vividly John''s unwavering belief in the goodness of people to make peace, not war and remains as important now as it was in 1969," he added.

The exhibition will run until August 15th and entry is included in the price of a general admission ticket to the venue.
