The influence of social media is growing and was discussed by experts at Technology For Marketing & Advertising (TFM&A) 2010.
Held at the Earls Court 2 exhibition and conference centre in west London on February 23rd and 24th, the show was focused on integrated marketing and advertising and is described by organisers as the UK''s only event of this kind.
Marketing.co.uk business director Darren Dutton said at the expo that there will be an increase in the focus on social media during 2010, as firms from different sectors "start tapping into" it.
"It''s been a good event and there''s a lot of focus on social media; not too much, but it''s changed over the past 12 months to 24 months," he commented.
Reporting on the success of the 2010 showcase, organisers revealed that more than 10,000 visitors had attended, a ten per cent increase on the previous year and a 107 per cent rise over the past three years.
The tenth edition of the annual event featured over 70 case study-led seminar sessions, in addition to
shell schemes representing businesses and suppliers of all sizes.
Aimed at professionals in the direct marketing, publishing, digital marketing, advertising, agencies and brand management industries, it was described by smartFocus chief executive Chris Underhill as "the busiest we have ever seen the show".
Meanwhile, a record 83 per cent of exhibitors in 2010 have already rebooked for next year''s event.
Exhibitor bookings for Internet World, TFM&A''s sister event, indicate that it "will also be a roaring success" when it takes place between April 27th and 29th at Earl''s Court, it has been claimed.
