Businesses in the world of materials enjoyed a successful exhibition at the Textile Forum earlier this year.
The fair, which displays the best in new materials and patterns, attracted high numbers of visitors, with an equal amount attending this show as did the October 2009 exhibition.
Aimed at people involved in the manufacture and design of clothes, from dressmakers to designers, medium sized manufacturers and retail fabric specialists, the event at The Music Room close to London''s Bond Street helped to generate business for the suppliers that had set up stands with modular display systems.
Some of the names who attended and snapped up stock of the luscious fabrics on show include designer Kerry Nixon, of fashion brand Vidler & Nixon, who visited the show in October but was back again to source new materials for the company''s new diffusion line.
MaryRose McGrath, bespoke bridal and occasionwear designer for House Of Fraser in Ireland stated that she was very impressed with what she saw at the show and is already planning her trip to the next exhibition on October 20th and 21st.
But it was not just the visitors who felt that the trip had been worthwhile, with exhibitors benefitting from more attendees than ever before placing orders, as well as sampling the products on display.
Basinghall UK, which specialises in fabrics for bridal and eveningwear received a large order from a buyer in Latvia, which also outlines how internationalised the show has become.
Michael Bristow of Michaels Bridal Fabrics stated that the fair this spring had been the busiest that his company had ever attended and it had proven to be a fruitful venture as the company had been inundated with requests for new accessories and fabrics.
